This Buddhist ceremonial site at Strandkyrkogården is located on a meadow at the forest’s edge overlooking Erstaviken. The pedestal is made in Italy from Carrara marble. It is divided into several massive blocks that are stacked on top of each other, and the upper part is hollow to hold a relic from a Buddha attva (enlightened person). 

A stupa is one of Buddhism's most important monuments and symbolizes enlightenment, compassion and the liberating power of wisdom.
