Kårhuset KTH
Café/ Bistro
2010 och 2013
Stockholm
1.800m²
“Kårhuset”, the student’s union building at KTH, is constantly changing to adapt to new needs and relocations in the house. In 2010, a completely new concept was created for the kitchens, while the union’s bookstore and KTH's IT support moved into the building. The part of the structure from the 70s was rebuilt with a more efficient smaller kitchen and a bistro in concrete and copper. In 2013, entrance 19 was opened, now with a new larger cafe directly connected to the stairwells and the IT support. The café has been designed with a clear sense of material to interact with the characteristic 1950s feel of the substructure.
